Robert Sandridge Obituary

DANVILLE, Va. - Robert Junior Sandridge, 72, of 133 Sweetbriar Drive, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Danville Regional Medical Center. He had been in declining health for one year and in the hospital for 2 weeks.
Born Aug. 12, 1932, in Greensboro, N.C., he was a son of the late Charlie Lee Sandridge and Cledis Burchett Foy Sandridge.
He lived all of his life in Danville. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean war. He was retired from Disston, Inc. and was a member of Brush Arbor Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Poquoson Tribe #124 Red Men.
He was married to Sylvia Blevins Sandridge.
In addition to his wife of the residence, he is also survived by two daughters, Kathy Marie Worley and Cledis Ann Jones, both of Danville; two stepsons, Donald Blevins of Danville and Virgil Blevins of Indiana; a brother, Lawrence Sandridge of Indiana; two sisters, Dorothy Tuck and Arvella Hutcherson, both of Danville; and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Swicegood Chapel with the Rev. Gilmer Setliff, the Rev. Billy Cook and the Rev. Steve Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in Schoolfield Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Swicegood Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence.
Swicegood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
