Rosa Cecil Crews Jennings Rosa Cecil Crews Jennings of South Boston, Va., died on Monday, June 10, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 79. Mrs. Jennings was born in Halifax County, Va., on September 20, 1933, to the late Mr. Johnnie Eddie Crews and Mrs. Lillian Marable Crews. She was a member of New Arbor Baptist Church. Mrs. Jennings is survived by two sons, Mr. James "Jack "Crews and wife, Margaret, of Madison, N.C., Mr. Calvin Crews and wife, Shirley, of Danville, Va.; six daughters, Mrs. Clarice Clayborn and husband, Sydney, of Milton, N.C., Mrs. Dorothy Jackson and Mrs. Rita Jennings, both of Danville, Va., Mrs. Daisy Traynham and husband, Robert, of South Boston, Va.,, Mrs. Kathy Burrell and husband, George of Danville, Va., and Ms. Valerie Jennings of South Boston, Va.; one special daughter/granddaughter, Mrs. Takisha Chappell and husband, Tim of Durham, N.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Cobbs and husband, Lewis, Mrs. Mary B. Edmunds and Mrs. Lillian Strange, all of Danville, Va.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren and six great- great-grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. Estelle Marable; four sisters in-law, Mrs. Marie Crews, Mrs. Mary Crews, Mrs. Laura Crews and Mrs. Fannie Crews; three devoted Godchildren, Mr. James Howerton, Mr. Thomas Penick and Mr. Jerry Edmunds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Rosa Jennings; four brothers, Willie E. Crews, Johnny Crews, Gussie Crews and Frissell Crews; one sister, Nannie Frances Crews. Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Cecil Crews Jennings will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at New Arbor Baptist Church with the Rev. Nelson C. Stamps officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family is receiving friends at the residence 5114 Lewis Ferrell Road, South Boston, Va. Funeral services are by Jeffress Funeral Home, North Main Street, South Boston, Va.
