Ruby Stevenson Obituary

Ruby Earlene Stevenson

DANVILLE, Va. - Ruby Earlene Stevenson, 59, of 143 Tamworth Drive, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at her residence. She had been in declining health for the past eight months.

Born March 11, 1945, in Grundy, Va., she was the daughter of the late Earl Stevenson and the late Ocie Faye Clevinger Stevenson.

She lived her life in the Danville area where, prior to her decline in health, she was employed as a spinner with Dupont in Martinsville. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two sisters, Shirley A. Fain of Danville and Jean Akers of Stokesdale, N.C.; two brothers, George Pete Stevenson of Danville and Donny H. Stevenson of Richmond, Va.

She was predeceased by one brother, James E. Stevenson.

There will be a graveside service held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Highland Burial Park with the Rev. Daryl Joyce officiating.

The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel and at other times will be at a brother's residence, George Pete Stevenson, 1594 Olde Hunting Trail, Danville, VA.

Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home, North Main is in charge of arrangements.
