Thomas Gene "Billy" Gill

Mr. Thomas Gene "Billy" Gill, age 87, of 512 Westview Dr., Danville, Va., passed on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at SOVAH Health Danville. He was born on October 12, 1931, in Tifton, Ga., to the late Thomas Boyd Gill and Willie Pitts Gill. Mr. Gill worked at Armour Food Co. for 38 years before his retirement and he is a member of Central Blvd. Church of God. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gill was predeceased by first wife, Clara Mae Proctor Gill of 61 years; and a son-in-law, Roy Barnes. He is survived by his wife, Denise Cocke Gill; children, Gary Thomas Gill (Janet) and Brenda Gail Gill Barnes; granddaughters, Stephanie Zaher and Amanda Tickle; three great-grandchildren, Peyton (Jon), Logan, and Garrett; one great-great grandson, Levi; stepchildren, Sarah C. Virgin (Jeff) and Rebekah C. McKelvey (Jon); and step-grandson, Drew. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Central Blvd. Church of God with the Rev. John Meadows officiating. Visitation will be held Monday evening, March 11, 2019, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church and at other times the family will be at the residence. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Billy may be made to Central Blvd. Church of God, 235 Hairston St, Danville, VA 24540.
