Thomas "Tommy" Neal McGee Sr. Thomas "Tommy" Neal McGee Sr., of Pelham, N.C., died on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, N.C. after a decline in health for the past year. Mr. McGee was born in Danville, Va. on August 6, 1941, a son of the late Johnny Neal McGee and Frances Hudson McGee. He lived all of his life in the Pelham area where he was a 1959 graduate of Cobb Memorial High School. He worked on the balance crew for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 31 years until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the Pelham Volunteer Fire Department for 32 years where he served on the board and was a member of the Pelham United Methodist Church. One of his favorite past times was riding motorcycles. On July 3, 1987, he married Elaine Henderson McGee, who survives of the residence. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Linda Allen and husband, Tommy, of Danville, Va., Tommy McGee Jr. of Cascade, Va., Billie Goodman and husband, Tony, of Dry Fork, Va., Tammy Byrd of Danville, Va., Bonnie Humphries and husband, Rickey, of Pelham, N.C., Sharon Roberts and husband, Jeff, of Christiansburg, Va., and Denise Tompkins and husband, Chris, of Danville, Va.;12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two nephews and their spouses, a sister-in-law, a niece and her spouse and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, hewas predeceased by his brother, James "Jimmy" Howard McGee. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 15, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Reverend Avery Marshall and Pastor Ray Mintz officiating. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service and at other times will be at the residence.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Pelham Volunteer Fire Department at 4895 Old US Highway 29, Pelham, NC 27311.Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the McGee family.
