Bob, from a schoolmate of you and Tommy. I remember Whitley brothers' brains, athletics and leadership skills.
I really only knew Tommy's professional abilities by his reputation never having been his patient. (My friends for whom he cared thought extremely highly of Tom's medical skills and his very kind manner.) I am sure you and the entire family are grief-stricken, but be proud and thankful for his years with you.
Keep the faith!

I, too, was shocked to learn the news. Tom (Tommy when we were growing up in Yanceyville), Jack and I must have played a hundred games of baseball as kids. I will always remember those shared times with fondest memories.

Jennifer and Fanily - I am so sorry about the sudden passing of Dr. Whitley. I knew him most of my adult life. I went to work for him in my late 20's and remained with him until he retired in May of 2005. He was a brilliant endocrinologist and helped countless patients. He was an asset to the medical community in Danville, and it was a privilege to work for him. May you find comfort in your memories of him.

I realize that Dr. Whitley was a great doctor, but I never knew him as that. Instead I knew him as a wonderful husband to Mrs. Whitley, wonderful person to all, and especially a wonderful father to Carson, Tim, Harrison, and Rob. Mrs. Whitley I cannot possibly imagine what grief you are going through at this time. But know that if I can do anything, please do not hesitate to ask. I will be praying for you, Rob, Carson, Harrison, and Tim.

I'm deeply sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Whitley [Tommy]. It is indeed a shock. We grew up next door to each other in Yanceyville and it seems we were all out in the yard everyday playing whichever sport was in season at the time.

My sympathy goes out to his Wife, Children, Grandchildren and my friend and classmate, his Brother Bob. May he rest in eternal peace.
