Walter Younger Obituary
CHATHAM - Walter Younger, 67 of 1429 Friendship Road, Chatham, passed Friday evening (02-27-09) in the Memorial Hospital of Henry County, Martinsville.
Born November 30, 1941 in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late Thomas William Younger and Mrs. Joanna Shelton Younger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul James Younger, Joseph Bennett Younger, Earl Whitehead and one sister, Mildred Fitzgerald.
He was a retired employee at Dan River Mills and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Danville.
Mr. Younger is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty Younger of the residence; two daughters, Bridget Thomas (Lamonte) and Veronica Davis (Steven) all of Colonial Heights; one brother, Clixie Younger (Evelene) of Chatham; four sisters, Sallie Mae Craft and Elizabeth Clark, (Cabel) all of Chatham, and Carrie King and Nancy Younger (Rev. Percy Younger), all of Gretna; nine grand-children, four great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Andre Saunders with interment in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Miller Funeral Home, Gretna, is in charge of arrangements.
