Alice Bartels Obituary

Alice Louise Bartels, age 91, of Edwardsville, Illinois died Friday, May 6, 2016, at her home.
Alice was a retired seamstress and artist.
She was born February 14, 1925, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of the late Cecil & Edna (Perkins) Baits.
Alice married Harold Bartels on June 24, 1950, in Edwardsville. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1992.
She is survived by 1 son, William Bartels of Edwardsville; 1 daughter, Kathy Gugger & husband Joe of Edwardsville; 2 grandchildren, Jessica Richheimer & husband Todd of Huntington, New York, and Meredith Gugger of St. Louis, Missouri; and 1 great grandchild, Isla Richheimer.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Olive.
Alice was a member of Eden United Church of Christ.
A private graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:30 p.m until 5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016, at 900 St. Louis Street in Edwardsville.
Memorials may be given to The Gardens at SIU-Edwardsville.
