Dennis Hamby Obituary
Bunker Hill - Dennis G. "Fuzzy" Hamby, age 76, of Bunker Hill, Illinois, formerly of Edwardsville, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, at his residence. He was born on April 20, 1947, in Edwardsville, the son of the late Wayne L. & W. Faye (Matlock) Hamby. Fuzzy married Lynita J. Hartley in October of 1999, she preceded him in death on November 21, 2011. He is survived by two sons, Denny Hamby Jr. & wife Melody of Holiday Shores, Joe Hamby & Jessica of Edwardsville; three daughters, Machelle Zinn & husband Kevin of Duncan, OK, Jenna Langendorf & husband Donnie of Hamel, Dina Hancock & Kevin of Bunker Hill; ten grandchildren, Dennis Hamby III, Bailey & Tyler Clark, Anthony Zinn, Nicholas Zinn, Dakota & Jessica Sellers, Colton & Emma Sellars, Rylee Langendorf & Tyler, Shaun & Jennifer Cathorall, Kara Kessinger, Makayla & Andrew Karraker; fourteen great grandchildren; and sister, Janice Seals & husband Roger of Edwardsville. His was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth W. Hamby, and a great granddaughter, Rose.
Fuzzy worked for Kienstra Concrete in Edwardsville as a truck driver for over 30 years before retiring. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, was a member of the American Legion Post 199 in Edwardsville, VFW Post 1241 in Staunton, Edwardsville Moose Lodge 1561, & Teamsters Local 525 in Alton. A private family service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. The family will host a celebration of life on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Edwardsville Moose Lodge, 5753 Marine Road, in Edwardsville. Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville. The family request memorials to the Edwardsville Moose Lodge 1561. Condolence may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
