Fern Schroeder Obituary

Fern Suhre Schroeder

Fern E. Suhre Schroeder, age 88, of Edwardsville, died at 4 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at Eden Village Care Center. She was born Oct. 22, 1918 in Alhambra Township, the daughter of the late John and Emma Schien Conrad. She married Leonard Suhre and he preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1963. She later married Joseph Schroeder and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1994. She is survived by one daughter: Kay Suhre Gieszelmann of Edwardsville; two step-sons: Joseph Schroeder Jr., and wife Darlene, of Columbia, Mo., and Robert Schroeder, and wife Dorothy, of Glen Carbon; one step-daughter: Bonnie White, and husband Richard, of Decatur; five grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren 15 step-great-grandchildren and two sisters: Aletha Uhe of Edwardsville and Lucille Korsmeyer, and husband Lester, of Highland. Mrs. Suhre Schroeder was retired as a teller from the Edwardsville National Bank. She was a member of Eden United Church of Christ, the church’s Women’s Guild and was also a quilter at the church. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at Eden United Church of Christ. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Mike Krewson officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery in Alhambra. Memorials are suggested to Eden United Church of Christ. Weber and Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville is in charge of arrangements. Internet visitors can sign a guest register online at weberfuneralhome.com.
