Gerald Berkel Obituary

Gerald Thomas "Tom" Berkel, age 63, of Alton, died at 5:20 a.m., on Thursday, December 20, 2007, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, after being struck by a pick up truck at 4:53 a.m. while riding a bicycle on Route 111 in Pontoon Beach.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Friday, December 28, at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.

A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., on Saturday, December 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. Chris Uhl celebrating.

Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family for the funeral and or a trust fund for the grandchildren in care of Staten-Fine Funeral Home.

Staten-Fine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

We all miss the days Dad tried to impress us with some new invention , I still fell like I always try to come up with something, but never could come up with anything close to as the many hundreds of different ideals that he had, Miss you Dad.
