Marian B. Dillon
EDWARDSVILLE - Marian B. Dillon, 86, of Edwardsville, passed away at 7:05 PM on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL with her husband by her side.
She was born on January 24, 1939, in Jamestown, PA, to Harold Holler and Sarah (Fry) Holler. Marian married her sweetheart, Thomas C. Dillon, on June 3, 1961, in Greenville, PA, at St. Paul's E&R Church.
Along with her husband of 64 years, Marian is survived by her son, Don (Carol) Dillon, of Edwardsville, and her daughter, Holly Dillon, of Edwardsville. She is also survived by her half-sister, Mary Knight, of Springboro, PA; her half-brother, Daniel Holler, and his wife, Brenda, of Hampton, VA; her sisters-in-law, Carol Holler of Greenville, PA, and Ruth Lazor of Wayne, OH; her grandchildren, Donny Dillon, of Pontoon Beach, IL, Jeremy (Hannah) Dillon, of Burnsville, MN, Tiffany Dillon (Justin Wasmuth), of Bethalto, IL, Corey Dillon, of MN, Tricia Dillon, of St. Louis, MO, and Sarah Kate Kunkle, of Bellingham, WA. Marian also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Cordelia, Brody, and Leo, of Burnsville, MN, as well as Lincoln and William of Bethalto, IL, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her grandson, Bradley M. Dillon, on December 13, 2024; her stepmother, Lucia Holler; brothers, Harold "Wayne" Holler and Leon Holler; half-brother, Samuel Holler; step-brother, Gary Mills; sisters-in-law, Sharon Holler, Donna Boos, and Hazel Dillon; brothers-in-law, Harvey Dillon, Dan Lazor, and Adolph Boos; and her beloved Aunt, Mable Fry.
Marian graduated with the class of 1956 from Jamestown High School in Pennsylvania. She worked as a secretary at Jamestown Machine & Manufacturing and at Westinghouse in Sharon, PA, before marrying and moving to Illinois. There, she worked at Basler Electric in Highland, IL. After her youngest child was born, Marian chose to be a stay-at-home mom. She devoted herself to creating a comfortable home for her family and raising two independent children, ensuring they were well-prepared for life.
Marian greatly loved her family, music, playing the piano, guitar, and accordion, having jam sessions with her Dad and siblings, going dancing with her husband, and enjoying activities such as flowers and gardening, bowling, golf, fishing, and deer hunting. She hated it when people spelled her name wrong! She was a member of Eden Church and the women's guild, Women of the Moose Lodge 1561, Edwardsville Sportsman's Club, and served on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Wildlife Federation.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. John Roberts presiding also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville.
