Thomas Metcalf Obituary

Thomas G. Metcalf
Wood River - Thomas G. Metcalf, age 53, passed away in Wood River, IL, on Friday, October 21, 2022. He was born in Springfield, IL, on August 20, 1969, the son of Phyllis (Kacinski) Metcalf and the late George Metcalf. Tom married his wife Bethany (Cunningham) Metcalf on October 7, 1995, in Edwardsville. Besides his mother and wife, Tom is survived by his children, Anna Lynn Metcalf and Liam Metcalf; a brother-in-law, Jeff Cunningham & wife Debbie, of Troy, IL; uncles, Bob Stahly & wife Marge, of Streator, IL; Larry Kacinski & wife Dorothy, of Lick Creek, IL, and Jack Trainer, of Wing, IL. Besides his father, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Melissa Garrett. Tom was a very creative person who enjoyed drawing and all types of music. Tom never met a stranger, was known for his quick wit, and could make anyone in the room laugh. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, eating Roma's pizza, and spoiling his dogs, Sunny Biscuits & Daisy. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. My condolences to the family. I always enjoyed Tommy over the years, whether it was playing basketball as kids for St. B, or shooting hoops in his neighborhood, or catching him at a concert as we got older. Always kind, friendly, and could make you laugh. RIP.
