CHARLENE RAMSEY Obituary

BRADY - Charlene Bratton Ramsey of Richardson, Texas, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, in Richardson. She was born in Rochelle, Texas, on Feb. 8, 1918, the eldest child and only daughter of Mabel Byrd Bratton and Charles Henry Bratton. She graduated from Rochelle High School in 1935 and Texas State College for Women in 1939. She later married Dr. E.W. Ramsey and resided in Brady before moving to Odessa in 1941. She was a loving mother for three daughters, an involved homemaker, a community volunteer and an active member of community affairs in Odessa. She lived in Odessa, San Angelo, Austin and Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband; and two brothers, Wesley and Richard. She is survived by her daughters, Sonja Emmrich of Richardson, Mary Mayfield of Arlington and Dixie Clark and husband, Roger, of Bedford; granddaughters, Amber Mayfield and Tippi Watson; twin great-grandsons, Lucas and Jacob Watson; and sisters-in-law, Marge Bratton and Jerry Bratton, both of Brady. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 15, in Leatherwood Memorial Cha-pels. Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with burial in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to Cal Farley's Boys' Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas, 79174 or a charity of choice. Pallbearers will be Roy Barton, Bert Bratton, Eddie Burk, Roger Clark, Jim Leary and Gene Tiemeyer. Honorary pallbearers will be David Bratton, Dudley Berquest, Lee Cotton, Marvin Mayfield, Mike Moore and Marty Watson.
