EDNA HORNER Obituary

SAN ANGELO - Edna Earle Davenport Horner, 80, of San Angelo, Texas, died at 7:28 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, in San Angelo. She was born May 25, 1924, in Voca, Texas. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, John W. McCartney and Jewel McCartney Cochran; two daughters, June Newton and Shirley Beth Davenport; great-granddaughter, Tamela June Young; two sisters, Mildred Luxton and Sylvia McCartney; and one brother, John Wesley McCartney. Survivors include her husband, Marvin Horner; 10 children, Jerry and Pam Davenport of Star, Texas, Cecil and Jean Davenport of Whitehouse, Texas, Ella and Cecil Fesperman of San Angelo, Danny and Ann Davenport of Marble Falls, Roger Horner of San Antonio, Jo Ann and Leon Roach of San Angelo, Maxine and Charles Barker of Aransas Pass, Anita and John Wingo of Aransas Pass, Marvin Jr. and Elizabeth Horner of Corpus Christi and Connie and C.J. Riley of Fort Worth. She is also survived by two sisters, Patsy and Jim Barbee of O.H. Ivie Reservoir and Betty Chatham of Corpus Christi; two brothers, Carl and Norma Cochran of Seadrift and Bill and Tommie Cochran of Oyster Creek, Texas; 52 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Lord blessed us with a very precious, loving and gracious lady who we loved dearly. We want to thank all the staff at Sagecrest for their loving care during her stay along with Dr. Anderton for his care and support. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Benson officiating. Family visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Johnson's Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to Edmund Boulevard Baptist Church.
