GERALD BUTLER Obituary
SAN ANGELO - Gerald Dewaine Butler was born Dec. 16, 1955, to Neil D. Butler Sr. and Mary Francis Pennington Butler. He was a loving child who grew into a peaceful loving man to all that came into contact with him. He passed away on Friday, Dec. 23. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1011 Martin Luther King Drive. The viewing will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Starks Funeral Home, 122 W. 14th. Gerald D. Butler had been married to Barbara A. Butler since March 28, 1995, and they were living in Dallas, Texas. Gerald was employed at Clay Communications as office manager in Carrolton, Texas. Gerald strived for excellence and worked to complete a bachelor's degree from the University of Houston at Clearlake. While in Dallas, he worshiped at Bibleway Community Baptist Church, where he worked to help families in need. Gerald's goals were to help educate and steer people from the world of drugs and help them to find alternatives to surviving in today's times. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Barbara A. Butler of Dallas, Texas; his beautiful daughter, Brandy B. Walker, son-in-law Jeramy Walker and two darling granddaughters, Jasmin and Jabria of San Angelo, Texas; a caring and prayerful mother, Mary F. Owens and husband Tony Owens of San Angelo, Texas; sister Kymberly Butler, M.D., of Pearland, Texas; brother Neil D. Butler, Jr. and wife Velma T. Butler of Irving, TX; brother Ottaway Perryman and wife Patricia of Donna, Texas; brother Freddy Kendrick of Gooseneck, S.C.; and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Neil D. Butler Sr. and by both sets of grandparents. Gerald leaves with us his will for us to seek a peace that surpasses all understanding. "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God."
