GINGER HALFMANN RICH

BALLINGER - Ginger Halfmann Rich, 55, of Ballinger, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, Dec. 15, 2002, surrounded by her family in San Angelo after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 13, 1947, in Marlin, Texas, to Thomas H. and Eileen Greger Halfmann. Her father preceded her in death. She married Donald Rich in November of 1993 in Coahoma, Texas. Moving to Ballinger, she was a proof operator for Ballinger National Bank until her illness caused her to retire. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Ballinger. She is survived by her husband, Donald Rich of Rowena; one son, Douglas Lawhon of San Angelo; one daughter, Amy Slaton and her husband, Todd, of San Angelo; and two granddaughters, Sterling and Addison Slaton of San Angelo. She is also survived by her mother, Eileen Halfmann of Rowena; brothers, Patrick Halfmann and wife, Rosa, of Barnhart, Charles Halfmann and wife, Gretchen, of Hurst, Texas, Arnold Halfmann and wife, Lisa, of Frisco, Texas, and Dale Halfmann and wife, Lisa, of Ballinger, Texas; one sister, Glenda Piel and husband, Larry, of Bangs, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends. The family received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, and from 8 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Rains-Seale Funeral Home. Service for Ginger will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the First Baptist Church in Ballinger with Dr. Kenneth Patrick of San Angelo officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Olfen, Texas. Pallbearers will be Tommy Halfmann, Travis Halfmann, Lance Halfmann, Ryan Halfmann, Kevin Rich and Bob Wheeler. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Alvarado, Hector Garcia and the employees of Ballinger National Bank. The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of San Angelo or a favorite charity. Ginger loved the Lord, and her family, and cared for them above herself. She loved people and life. She never knew a stranger and her sense of humor was loved by all. We will miss her very much.
