HELEN JOYCE FICKLING HALFMANN

SAN ANGELO - Helen Joyce Fickling Halfmann, 80, of San Angelo, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2007, in a local care center. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 7, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Helen was born Jan. 21, 1927, to George and Murrel Snider Roberts in Carlsbad, Texas. She graduated from Shannon Nursing School and worked as a nurse for many years. Helen married Dale Fickling on May 16, 1952, and was married for 36 years to Mr. Fickling, who preceded her in death on April 15, 1988. In December of 1991 she remarried Lawerence Halfmann, who preceded her in death in June of 2006. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in San Angelo and the organization known as the Rebecas. Survivors include children Stacey Howard of San Angelo, Texas, Ronnie Fickling and his wife Darlene of Maryville, Tenn., and Charlie Halfmann and his wife, Marsha of San Angelo, Texas; grandsons Chris Howard of Alpharetta, Ga., Justin Fickling of Knoxville, Tenn., and Derek Halfmann of Austin, Texas; granddaughters, Angela Stansell of Easley, S.C., and Amy Loyd of Maryville, Tenn.; and great-grandchildren, A.J. Howard of Florence, S.C., Camryn Stansell of Easley, S.C., Emily Stansell of Easley S.C., Connor Stansell of Easley S.C., and Zane Loyd of Maryville, Tenn. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society and M.D Anderson in Houston, Texas.
