JAMES GIST Obituary
SAN ANGELO - James Christian Gist, 42, of Dallas passed away Sunday, June 18, 2006, at Village Creek Motocross Track in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 23, in the Johnson's Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ben Hubert officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. He was born Dec. 25, 1963, in Austin, Texas. He was employed at Cirro Energy Group. He passed away Sunday night after one last ride on his dirt bike, after which his heart failed him. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; his daughter, Abra Jade; and two sons, James Zachary and Gavin Lewis; his parents, David and Johnnie Sue Gist; and his grandmother, Suzie Smetana. He is further survived by his brother and his wife, David Michael and Shelia Gist; and his sister, Mary Catherine Ott; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. He was an avid lover of sports such as ice hockey and motocross. He coached both of his son's hockey teams for many years. Jim never loved a little; he loved with his whole heart. He honored his parents and held his brother and sister very dear. His wife and children were the center of his world. He also knew the value of friendship, and he cherished each and every one of them. To all his beloved friends, we would like them to know that he died with a smile on his face and his boots on. We'll love you forever, Jim.

I'll miss Jim's smile and his way of making others laugh and feel special. I saw Jim a month ago and all he could do was talk about how proud he was of his family. His wife and children were obviously very special to him. He was extremely happy to be back working at Cirro Energy. I heard later that he was top salesman his first month back. I will miss you, Jim.

My mother heart hurts for you today. I've not experienced losing a child, but it must be the hardest thing you've ever gone through. Thinking of you.Barbara
