Kathryn Kuhlmann Obituary
SAN ANGELO - Our precious Kathryn Rene Kuhlmann passed away suddenly at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth due to complications after a bone marrow transplant on Wednesday, July 5, 2006. She was born in San Angelo, Texas, on July 16, 1997, to Stephen and Ervilene Kuhlmann. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and was a member of Brownie Troop 234. She enjoyed playing soccer, volleyball and basketball with her family, and playing with her sister Kristen and their puppy, Snickers. She was very creative and completed a variety of arts and crafts projects while hospitalized at Cook Children's, which the staff greatly admired. She was a very mature, loving and sensitive little girl with a sweet, gentle and caring spirit that captured the hearts of many. The tremendous courage she had in her battle against leukemia was an inspiration to everyone who knew her, and to many whom never had the privilege of meeting her. She is survived by her parents, Stephen and Ervilene Kuhlmann; sister Kristen Nicole Kuhlmann; paternal grandparents, Clayton and Beatrice Kuhlmann of San Angelo; aunts and uncles, Mark and Janet Scott of San Angelo, Rodney Kuhlmann of Mesquite, Dewayne and Peggy Hahn of Bellaire, and Elwin and Ouida Hahn of San Angelo; cousins Daniel, Kim and daughter Daniela Hirmas of Riverside, Calif., Justin Hahn of Houston, Patrick Hahn of Grand Junction, Colo., Jeremy Hahn of Irving, and Joshua and Lindsey Hahn of Las Vegas; and a very special great-aunt, Irene Hunter of San Angelo. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ervin and Dorothy Hahn; and aunts Karen Rene Kuhlmann and Pamela Hahn. Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, July 10, at Calvary Lutheran Church in San Angelo, followed by burial ceremony in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. My heart truly goes out to you, and is so broken for you. It was hard enough to lose Daddy to cancer three years ago, but I can't begin to know how you feel, but your angel is in heaven, and in no pain. We will see them again someday. It is hard to accept a child having to suffer and leave us. Maybe God will explain someday. I pray her sister will be able to cope someday. It will be hard. You will always be in my prayers. We have received inspiration from the experience of knowing this wonderful little person. She had courage, fought the good fight, and now is in Heaven where there is no doubt that she is a winner. Our prayers go out for her family and parents as they work their way through her passing.

Each week I read the San Angelo paper online (from my Dallas-area home), checking the obituaries to see if there is a name I know. Although I did not recognize this name, I had to read the story that went with the picture of such a precious little girl. Once I started reading, I realized that this girl with a big smile was a little Hahn. I don't know whether you remember me, Ervilene, but I knew you at church way back when we were kids. I went to school with Elwin, Dewayne was a good friend of my brother's, and I remember your mother fondly. I am saddened by your loss and just want you to know that you have my deepest sympathy. Take care. Kathryn (Kathy) Huff Straach

To all of you, We extend our most heartfelt sympathies... I've seen Kathryn while at Trinity, and experienced her energy and vitality! She was truly a special little girl. Our grandson, Riley Kearby, has faithfully enlisted all the prayers he could in her behalf. Knowing Bea and Clayton for so many years, we cannot help but consider with heavy heart, the loss that is felt by all of you with Kathryn being out of your sight and arms for awhile. We trust God to send His Holy Spirit to guard, guide, direct and comfort each of you. We will continue your family in our prayer petitions. Sincerely, Carol and Bill Elliott
