Martha Jane "Janie" Thacker Clift

Martha Jane Thacker Clift (Janie Clift) has won her battle with cancer by shedding her earthly body and gaining her heavenly crown.

She is survived by a brother, Vincent Thacker; two sisters, Cathy Rogers and Sheila Fitzgerald; her son, Jeffrey Lee and four of her children, who cared for her in her last days, Johnie Wayne Robinson, Letha Weckler, Debbi Lee and Patricia Reynolds; and by "yours, mine and ours" children, too numerous to name; along with a few strays she adopted along the way, whom she loved with equal measure. She is also survived by one niece and four nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and her church family at San Angelo Cowboy Church.

Janie was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Wallace Wayne Clift; her eldest sister, Helen; four sons, Jimmy, Pat, Monty, and Rick; granddaughter, Schyelar; along with both of her parents.

Janie was always strong in her faith and grew closer to Christ the latter half of her life. Her greatest wish was for every member of her family to build a relationship with God and find salvation, so that she could meet them at the East Gate of Heaven when we too, shed our earthly coil. Janie is loved by so many and will be leaving an enormous empty space here, but she has received her wings, and we will see her again someday. While we mourn our loss, we will celebrate her mortal life on earth and her eternal life in Heaven.

Visitation will be held all day Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the funeral home with family present 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2018 at Shaffer Funeral Home's Pioneer Chapel with interment to follow in Pioneer Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Grape Creek.
