PATSY HOWELL Obituary

SAN ANGELO - Patsy Lawson Howell was born March 15, 1951, to James and Margie Lawson in San Angelo, Texas. She graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1969. She married Larry Loftin; Marilyn Gail Loftin was their only child. In 1972, she was married to Walter (Buda) Howell. Patsy retired from Verizon with 30 years of service. As her health began to fail, she moved to Alaska to be with her daughter and grandsons. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Margie Lawson; and brothers James Jr. and Allan Lee. Survivors include daughter Marilyn Loftin; two grandsons, Michael Loftin and fiance Samantha, and Zakary Sexton, all of Alaska; sister Janice Lawson of Georgia; brothers Larry and wife Elizabeth Lawson, and Lonnie and wife Susan Lawson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She had many special friends. Pallbearers are Larry Jewel Jr., Ricky Blair, Terry Blair, Cory Lawson, Donald Branch and Ron Grey. Honorary pallbearers are Yolanda Padilla, Julia Grey, Sharon Gregory, Kayla Gust and Jimmie Sue Parsley. Patsy was known for being a very generous person. She never said no to a worthy cause or to someone in need. She was always ready to coordinate or head a fundraiser. Patsy was very active in the yearly GTE United Way campaign, member of the GTE Stear Committee and the Pioneer Club. Mother, Nanny, sister and special friend, you are forever in your father's loving arms, totally free from pain at last. We will miss you and cherish the memories the rest of our lives. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Belvedere Cemetery.

I was saddened to hear of Patsy's passing. I ran around with her in early teen years and lived down the street. We had many memorable times. Through the years we lost touch. Please accept my condolences and know that my thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Marybeth

I worked with Pasty at GTE. I first met Pasty when we both were on the Stear Committee. She was a fun and wonderful person to work with. I'll miss her very, very much. To the family: May you find God's gracious love in every precious memory of your loved one. Wishing you His peace, Vicki Marvin

Marilyn and family: I have memories of the good times at work (GTE) and outside work with your mom. I often would ask others that knew her how she wsa doing. I just was advised of her death and was devastated to learn that her time was complete here on earth. I live in Alaska and was sad to know she had been here as well and didn't have any idea she was here. May the lord bless you all. Cindy Whaley Hanover

To the family: I have known Patsy since we were little kids. My Dad knew her parents, and one of her brothers worked for him. I think it was James. My Dad owned Site Service Station on Sherwood Way. Then, Patsy and I both worked at GTE. I loved her sense of humor. She was a very loyal friend and will be missed. Marlene

And Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Patsy, you will always live on in our hearts as the beautiful, generous woman you were and always will be. You will always be my sister-in-law. I pray that our Lord will comfort Marilyn and our other family and give you all strength to go on. Peace be with you all. All my love, Lisa (Walter's sister)

Patsy was always a sweet, loving person-never met a stranger. Her sister was my best friend and I have been trying to locate her. I am saddened by Patsy's death. She will join some other wonderful people-James and Margie, brothers James and Allan and Mimi. My thoughts and prayers will be with the family. You were all so lucky to have Patsy in your lives. Love to all, Sara Sue

Sis, This is so-o-o hard, fighting back the flood of tears for things we left unsaid. I hope you knew what you meant to our family, and how much you continued to be a part of our fond life memories. You left this life much too soon! Thanks for all of the laughs, cries, and hugs. My love to you, Marilyn Gail. I hope it gives you some peace to know that you are not alone in your sorrow. I will say a prayer for guidance and peace for your family Loftin and Lawson.
