PVT2 Deleon Obituary

PVT2 Isaac Lee Deleon

San Angelo

PVT2 Isaac Lee Deleon, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, June 2, 2016, in Fort Hood during a training accident while on active duty.

Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with burial to follow in Belvedere Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.

Isaac was born Jan. 12, 1997. He was a graduate of San Angelo Central High School, Class of 2015. He was always a good student and was on the honor roll. Isaac was a member of ROTC, he knew what he wanted for his career. He loved cars and he was a member of a local car club. He had just recently bought his first car, a 2012 Scion T.C.

Isaac was a motor transport operator with the 3rd Battalion, 16th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team and 1st Calvary Division. He has been awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon. He entered active duty service in November 2015, and he was stationed in Fort Hood in April 2016.

He was known for his sense of humor and he was able to lighten anyone's mood. His personality and smile were contagious. That grin could get him out of trouble and made those around smile too. His heart and determination led him to succeed when others thought it impossible. No matter the obstacle, Isaac approached it with confidence.

Isaac was loved by all that were lucky to have had the chance to know him. The days just don't seem as bright without him in this world, but his loved ones will carry on his memory and legacy knowing he is there to help them through life. He's got this.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Severo G. DeLeon.

Isaac is survived by his parents, Ricky and Christina DeLeon; sister Janice Escobedo; brother Hector E. DeLeon; grandparents Coleen and Dennis Lindberg; great-grandpa Joseph Krizenski; fianc? Deja Lara; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members along with many friends.
