Sean was born on April 14, 1980, in San Angelo. He was an avid outdoorsman and could take a fly line and put in on a dime. He was a friendly young man with a heart for people. Sean saw your heart, not your face and not your race. Sean loved to show love to his family and friends. Although Sean was a severe chronic asthmatic, he excelled in all sports. He achieved All District status for two years while attending San Angelo Central High School in football and soccer. He served as a guiding light for what asthmatics could achieve. Sean was a finalist for a national asthmatics scholarship his senior year. Sean never was a victim to this illness, but learned to adjust and achieve. Sean loved people. He loved to serve people and brighten lives by being around. He loved what was right and fair and wanted people to be fair with each other. Sean graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1998. The classmates from the class of '98 share in this loss. They have been close and will miss their friend. The impact Sean had on his mom and dad, his brother and sister, his grandparents, his friends and his colleagues will be remembered with a smile on our hearts. Sean is survived by his parents, Kim and Sam Sparks of San Angelo; his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Ross and Angela Sparks of San Antonio; his sister and brother-in-law, Shai and Lee Wood of San Antonio; three nephews, Eric, Christopher and Mathew Wood of San Antonio; one niece, Debra Nicole Wood of San Antonio; special cousin, Christina Swain of San Angelo; aunt and uncle, Rick and Mary Swain of San Angelo; grandparents, Doug and Marilyn Swain of San Angelo; aunt and uncle, Rex and Debra McBeth of Eagle Pass; cousin, Taylor Dale McBeth of Eagle Pass; family friend, Brian Stanley of San Angelo; and great-aunt and uncle, Elna and R. C. White. Memorials may be made to West Texas Rehab or a favorite charity.

I had the honor of knowing Sean for many years. He was a talented, humble individual with a great personality. I live in Germany now and did not get the news of until a week later but it still came as a shock. I will always remeber Sparky for the active, outgoing, great guy he was. May he rest in peace knowing that his mission here on earth was complete and done in an honorable way.

We had the honor of getting to know Sean last year when he attended our wedding with one of my bridesmaids, Brittnae. We hardly knew him at the time and were "tickled" at his willingness and determination to help with all the hectic pre-wedding chores. He helped run errands, pick up decorations, and even decorate. He was a beautiful, humble, precious person and will be missed by everyone that he ever crossed paths with. Your family will be in our prayers. Jeff and Krissy Harrison - Houston, TX

My husband and I met this charming young man at my sister's wedding last year. (Jeff and Krissy Harrison). We had so much fun with Sean as he was so welcome to new friendships and amazed us with his beaming personality and bright, bright smile! I trust he is entertaining angels as he is missed by all who had the fortunate experience to know him! -Monty and Leslie Williams, Grapevine, Texas

Dear Sparks family, There are no words to describe the sadness we feel on hearing of Sean's passing. I will never forget watching #34 run over people on Friday nights. Although I never had the privilege to have Sean as a student at CHS, I always admired him and was proud to have him associate with my son Jeff #33. Our prayers and love go out to you Sam and Kim at this most difficult time. Sincerely, Jeff and Jeanette Taylor Gilbert, AZ
