Steve Caldera Obituary

SAN ANGELO Steve P. Caldera, 62, of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012, at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, in Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor Daniel Olivan of Segunda Iglesia Bautista officiating. A prayer service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, in Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Steve was born on Dec. 29, 1949, in Groesbeck, Texas, to Juan and Asusana Caldera. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he received two Bronze Stars. Steve was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Steve married his high school sweetheart, Georgia Alejandro, on July 18, 1970, in San Angelo, Texas. He loved spending his time with his sons, grandchildren and his brother and best friend Cecil. Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years, Georgia Caldera, of San Angelo; sons Steve E. Caldera and wife Jolene of San Angelo, Juan Caldera of Dallas; mother Asusana Caldera of San Angelo; brother Cecil Caldera and wife Linda of Grape Creek; sisters Minnie Mirelez, Mary Barrera, Rita Hernandez and husband Martin Jr., all San Angelo; grandchildren Lydia Ellison and husband Patrick of Odessa, Alicia Caldera of San Angelo, Anthony Caldera of San Angelo, Randy Cooper and wife Jessica of Katy, David Caldera of Big Spring and Dalylah Caldera of Dallas; three great-grandchildren; and special friend Frank Lara. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Segunda Iglesia Bautista for all the prayers and loving support they have provided to the Caldera family throughout his illness.
