Imogene Mochizuki Obituary
Imogene Mochizuki March 17, 1950 - October 25, 2024 Imogene Mochizuki, 90, passed away from this earth Friday October 25 in Fort Worth. Services will be held Saturday November 2, 2 pm at Church Angels Funeral Home, 6301 Granbury Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76133.
Imogene was born March 31, 1934 in Cross Plains, Texas to the late Dona Oliver Gautney and Mary Boyd Gautney. She spent her school years in Cisco, Texas and is survived by one sister, Marge Melton of Fredericksburg, Texas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Gautney of Fort Worth and Tommy Gautney of McComb, Mississippi.
She married Davy Lee Mitchell, March 17, 1950 in Eastland, Texas. In 1960 they relocated to Graham, Texas where they thrived. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1978. They had two sons, Rodney Mitchell and wife Chari of Graham and Brad Mitchell of Scroggins, Texas. Grandchildren include Juan Zevallos of Plano, Texas; Ketrell Taylor and husband Cory of Mount Vernon, Texas; Brandon Mitchell and wife Amanda of Mansfield, Texas; Renee Lyles and husband Ran of Pittsburgh, Texas; DeeAnn Roesler and husband Arron of Mount Vernon; and Jennifer Mitchell of Mount Vernon. She has 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters. Denise Mitchell is the mother of all of the East Texas grandchildren and remains an integral member of the family.
In 1980, Imogene moved to Kaneohe, Hawaii and began her love affair with her adopted state. She met Ralph Mochizuki through the Baptist Church there and they were married for 38 years. The first 22 in Hawaii and the remainder in Fort Worth. He preceded her in death in 2019. They had one son, Gary Mochizuki of Knoxville, Tennessee and one granddaughter, Mia.
Imogene was an accomplished seamstress, loved the bridge tournaments in Graham with her friends and couldn't pass up an estate sale, garage sale or antique shop. She was a life long member of the Baptist Church and her faith was always paramount in everything she did.
Memorials may be made to the Graham Humane Society of Young County.
