Loretta Rittenhouse Obituary

Loretta Avonell (Blankenship) Rittenhouse May 6, 1937 - December 21, 2022 Loretta Avonell Blankenship Rittenhouse passed quietly at home surrounded by her loved ones Wednesday, Dec. 21.

She was born May 6, 1937, in Portsmouth, Ohio and was the only child of Arlie and Dora Blankenship. Loretta attended and graduated from Sabina School, Sabina, Ohio, in 1955.

She met her childhood sweetheart, Arnold P. Rittenhouse, while walking to school each day and married him Aug. 31, 1955.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Arlie and Dora Blankenship of Sabina, Ohio; and her daughter-in-law, Audrey (Jan) Rittenhouse of Graham.

Those left to honor Loretta are her loving husband of 67 years, Arnold P. Rittenhouse of Reno, NV; two sons, Jan Rittenhouse of Graham, and Mark (Lori) Rittenhouse of Reno, NV; three grandchildren, Jordan (Jeremy) Louder of Haltom City, Tayler (Rayce) Johnson of Graham, and Matthew (Madison) Rittenhouse of Reno, NV. Loretta was also blessed with three (soon to be four) great-grandchildren, whom she adored, Jansyn and Jayden Louder, Rhett Johnson, plus, one more little Rittenhouse (Matthew & Maddy) she was anxiously awaiting.

Loretta loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She thoroughly enjoyed each moment she was able to spend with her family. She was very proud of her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved attending whatever activities in which they were involved. Loretta will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

No arrangements have been made for a memorial service at this time. Loretta's family would prefer for donations to be made to Sabina Church of Christ, Sabina, Ohio, or First Baptist Church of Graham, in lieu of flowers. Cards can be sent to 979 Truckee Valley Drive, Reno, NV 89511.
