Raymond Cantwell Obituary

Raymond Daniel Cantwell December 9, 1930 - November 11, 2024 Raymond Daniel Cantwell (93) died Monday, Nov. 11, in Graham. Raymond was born Dec. 9, 1930 in Houston.

He graduated from Allen Military Academy of Bryan, before volunteering for service in the United States Navy right after the Korean Conflict began in June 1950. He was stationed on the island of Guam working as a hospital corpsman and guard at the Naval Communications Center. After the conflict was over in July 1953, Raymond was discharged and returned home to Texas to complete his education at Baylor University, graduating with a B.A. in Business. On Feb. 26, 1955, Raymond married Erlynn Kamper at Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Oak Cliff and together raised five children living in various towns of Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico working for Conoco, Combined American Life Insurance and working the family farm in Olney. Raymond had a lifetime of memories encasing his many occupations, church ministries, Missions and Houston Family Reunions.

Later, Raymond attended Bible College and felt called to change occupations starting Servants Cleaning Service LLC in the Dallas area. This was not only his occupation, but a ministry. He hired many who needed assistance to find work quickly. Whichever church Raymond was serving, he loved giving to Missions and being on the Greeter's Staff using his God-given gift of a big smile and words of encouragement. After moving to Graham early 2021, he found his last church home in Oak Street Baptist. Raymond adored serving, loving and continued learning of the Gospel at OSBC.

Raymond is preceded in death by daughter, Raylynn Cantwell, wife, Erlynn Cantwell, mother Nora Ellen Van Natter Dyson, father, Raymond D. Cantwell, step brothers, A.H. Dyson Jr, Jack Dyson, and sister, Jeanette Cantwell Whitfield. He is survived by brother, Larry Cantwell, sons, Guy (Leasa) Cantwell, Donald Cantwell, Paul (Debbie) Cantwell, David (Teresa) Cantwell and daughter, Sarah Cantwell; grandchildren, Paul (Abi) Shipp, Barbara (Jonathan) Chung, Bonnie (Ryan) Fraase, Eric Cantwell, Kelli (Thom) Mellema, Krystal (Daniel) Price, Andrew (Haley) Cantwell, Abigail (Zachary) Aguayo, Katelynn (PJ) Axtell, and J. Paul Axtell.
