Mary Carolyn Lewis

Mary Carolyn Lewis, 79 of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, at Care Partners Solace Center in Asheville, N.C.
She was a native of Cherokee County, and the daughter of the late Herman Larry Taylor and Mary Ellen White Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Robert Owens; and her brother, Harold Eugene Taylor.
Her favorite hobbies included sewing and cooking; and she loved to go shopping.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert Melton Lewis Sr., son, Robert Melton Lewis Jr. (Leesa) of Bryson City, N.C.; daughter, Robyn Prince (Gregg) of Robbinsville, N.C., brother, Larry Taylor of Andrews, N.C.; her loving mother-in-law, Edna Mae Farr; and precious sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Lanchel Kelley of Robbinsville, N.C.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Cynthia Lewis, Jeremy Lewis, Erika Graves (Jason), Gregory Leonard Prince, Jr. (Josie), Kristopher Owens (Danielle), Miriam Porter (Troy), and Nicholas Owens (Traci); and great-grandchildren: Kaison Reeves, Karsyn Lewis, McKenzie Lewis, Brookelyn Shaw, Breeley Turpin, Carson Turpin, Liam Prince, Leela Prince, Abbie Owens and Tessa Owens.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at the Townson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
The Revs. Wayne McGuire and Eric Sellers officiated.
Burial followed the service at the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeremy Lewis, Max Mason, Jacob Bradley, Nicholas Owens, Jacob Shaw and Clay Grindstaff.
The family received friends from 1-2 p.m., Monday at the chapel, prior to the service.
Townson-Smith Funeral Home was honored to serve the Lewis family.
