Doris Trinker Obituary

Doris Mae Trinker, age 95, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, with her loving family by her side in her home that she and her husband built and raised their family. She was born September 17, 1929, in Spring Lake, Michigan, to Jacob and Rebecca (Bishop) Wierenga.

Doris married Clayton Le Roy "Jack" Trinker on June 8, 1951, in Grand Haven, Michigan. Clayton preceded her in death on May 12, 2014.

Doris worked as an inspector for General Electric for 47 years, retiring in 1989. She was very active with the United Israel World Union, lifetime member of the Grand Haven Eagles, and ambassador for Four Pointes Senior Center. Doris loved to dance, especially with her husband Clayton. She also was a wonderful cook, loved to crochet and was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan. Most important to Doris was her family and spending time with them.

Doris is lovingly remembered by two daughters, Leah (Robert) Lock and Rachel (Steve Turgeon) Raggl; four grandchildren: Shawn (Stacey Scanlan) Lock, Michele (Scott) Hichue, Gregory Trinker and Aaron Trinker Jr.; six great-grandchildren: Isaac Luna, Elijah Luna, Adriana Lock, Luke Lock, Paisleigh Hichue and Mileah Hichue; her beloved cat, Zelda Mae, aka "princess"; her sister, Ruth Zimmer; her brother, Robert Wierenga; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Trinker and Aaron Trinker; two brothers, Jacob Wierenga and Kenneth Wierenga; and her sister, Gertrude Farrar.

A visitation for Doris will be held from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2024, at The Spring Lake Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 213 E. Savidge St., Spring Lake, MI 49456. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery.

And on a brighter note I have also made wonderful friends with your daughters. And your sweet princess Zelda Mae I will always adore her. She is one special cat. Rachel and Steve, so glad that you were there.

I don't even know where to begin, I met Doris when becoming her caregiver. We both had an instant bond that made us finding time together was more than just me being a caregiver. Doris has become like a second mom to me. I know heaven gained another beautiful angel and I will always miss our laughter at the silliest things I did and said. But that's what made me happy was when I could make Doris happy. I will always remember you as my favorite client. You will be sorely missed by so many of us, I know one day I will see you again rest in peace sweet Doris.

I started as a hairdresser in 1966,& Doris was one of my first clients. Little did we know that 48 yrs. later, we´d have become friends, & I was still doing her hair every week. We shared stories, & life experiences, both happy & sad. She was a beautiful lady, hard worker, & a happy person. I was very blessed to have shared time with her. My sympathies go out to all her family. I´m sure you all have many fond memories of her. She led a beautiful life.
