Edward Dault Obituary

Mr. Edward "Ed" Dault, age 88, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, October 6, 2025. He was born February 28, 1937, in Grand Haven to Edward, Sr, and Catherine (Niemiec) Dault. On June 7, 1958, he married Barbara Bursley and she preceded him in death on January 4, 2005. Ed was blessed to marry Phyllis Feldt on July 3, 2009.

Ed was a member of St. Patrick Church of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish, where he served in the prayer group, Eucharistic minister, food pantry, adoration chapel and a former Stephens Minister, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ed loved his church.

As a young husband and father, he designed, built and provided a home for his family in Dermshire Forest. He took pride in his job as an automotive design engineer for 44 years. Ed enjoyed traveling, golfing, fishing, hunting, cards and had a "29" in cribbage. He also collected crosses from commemorative places. Ed served in the Army National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; five children: Claudia (Morris) Rios, Kelly (Bill) O'Brien, Scott Dault, Tim Dault, Jon (Erin) Dault; step-children, JoAnn Feldt, and Dr. Charles (Cheri) Feldt; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters: Cathy Bodgan, Jane Simonte; brother, Joe (Teresa) Dault; in-laws: Margaret Plichta, Warren Plichta, and Pat Dault. Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Louise (Ray) Suchecki; brother, Norman Dault; in-laws, Marlene Atchison, and Roger Plichta; stepdaughter, Karen Feldt.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025, at St. Patrick Church of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Parish. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in memory of Ed may be given to St. Patrick's Memorial Fund or the Harbor Hospice Foundation. Please sign the family's online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.

I have know Ed for many years. He was a wonderful person with a happy and gregarious personality. I don´t believe I had ever seen him angry, cross or even upset. He faced his challenges with grace, never complaining. My condolences to his family. I know he is home with our Lord sho he loved dearly RIP Eddie
