My heart is truly broken since I learned of Fred's death...he was a kind humble soul that knew early on he wanted to make music and he followed his dream becoming an accomplished musician. I have known Fred since 1965 when my parents allowed him to be the first guy I dated and we have remained friends ever since. I grew up listening to the Dudes in the 60's practicing in Sieg Gursoy's basement with other band mates Adam Gursoy, Mark Hallman, and Dan Gahsman. At that time they played at venues like high school dances, roller skating rinks, and outside down on the waterfront at what used to be8th called the "barn". So many good times and memories..I'm sure he will be missed by his many friends and he will always have a permanent place in my heart...rest in peace, music man...

Fred i knew you most of my life. My brother was friends with your brother, and i used to babsit his kids on Dogwood. Later i danced my feet off to you in Pinch and Beach Bter ashers for years. Just couldn´t sit down. Later after you lost Linda, i saw you at Leppinks, and after a big hug you introduced me to your dog. Your kindness and guitar will be sadly missed

Got to know Fred at the Sand Box when "Pinch" played.
Played the tambourine sometimes with the band.
Great time to be growing up in that era.
Rest in Peace

Fred, I will miss you. We have been friends for years.
First meeting in 1965 at a teen club in Muskegon. You were playing in The Dudes.
In 1992 you offered me a position in The Beach Bashers were I continued until 2000.
We played for 1000´s over the years. You were always a kind, sensitive caring soul. Quick witted, intelligent and humble.
You loved The Kinks, two songs come to mind: Come Dancing and Waterloo Sunset. I always think of you when I hear them.
Rest peacefully my dear friend, knowing you kept them dancing and made the world a better place.
I love you Fred. `TIL we meet again.

So sad. What a really great guy! I will truly miss seeing Fred (and "Sunny") when we are in Michigan, and having him join our group meetings at Fricano's. May his memory be eternal.
