Henry "Ted" Theodore Parker, Jr., age 88, of Spring Lake, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at home. He was born on June 13, 1937, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Henry T. and Norma (Bowman) Parker, Sr. Ted married Vicki Zvoleff on August 13, 1960, in Grand Haven.
Ted graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1955. While attending GHHS, he played tennis and football. He was quarterback and team member of the state champion Buccaneers in the season of 1954. Ted went on to earn a degree from Michigan State University, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He relished his time at MSU and remained close with his fraternity brothers and was a huge Spartan fan.
Upon graduation from MSU, Ted worked with his father, Henry, who was founder of Harbor Industries in Grand Haven, and he later served as President, CEO, and Chairman. He was active in several industry groups and was inducted into the Point of Purchase Advertising Institute Hall of Fame.
Ted deeply loved Grand Haven and the Tri-Cities area. He was involved in many organizations and initiatives including: former Trustee of the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, past President of the Spring Lake Country Club (where he was also a 65 year member), former council member for Grand Haven City, board member of the Association of Commerce and Industry, an original member of the Mulligans Hollow Ski Bowl Committee, member of the Stag Club, and was a Jaycee. He was also the proud recipient of the Grand Haven Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award.
Ted loved to travel the world with his friends and family. He and Vicki traveled to every continent, except for Antarctica. Ted loved the American West and especially enjoyed skiing in Colorado and spending winters golfing in Arizona with his friends and family. For the past 30 years, he was a member of the Boulders Golf Club in Carefree and cherished many lasting friendships.
Ted will be forever remembered and missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Vicki; his daughter, Cindy Parker of Grand Haven; two sons, Todd Parker of Dillon, Colorado, and Tim (Jill) Parker of Spring Lake; three grandchildren: Charlie, Aidan, and Erin; his brother, Dennis (Carol) Parker; sister-in-law, Eva Parker; stepsister, Nancy Hyde; stepsister-in-law, Cindy Hyde; and brother-in-law, Vernon (Anastazja) Zvoleff. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and stepmother, Eleanor; and brothers, Tom and Greg Parker; and stepbrother, Dick Hyde.
The family would like to extend special thanks to dear family friends, Beth Windemuller, RN, and Dr. Gerry Witherell, who went above and beyond providing care for Ted in his final months.

Vicki, Cindy, Todd and Tim,
I am so sorry to hear of Ted´s passing. He was a great man, mentor and friend. I had dinner with him recently and we had the best time. Lots of laughs! Now he can be reunited with my dad and say "hey brother". Blessed to have had him in my life and will never be forgotten.
