Michael Scott Cicholski, age 60, passed away on November 17, 2025, at Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids, MI. He was born on March 27, 1965, to John and Catherine (Shaening) Cicholski in Manistee, MI.
In 1988, Mike graduated from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and earned his professional engineering license. He worked for several companies throughout his career, most recently at Martin Marietta Materials in Manistee. His strong work ethic began early – at age 10, inspired after reading Henry Huggins books, he started delivering newspapers in Manistee. This sparked a lifelong appreciation for hard work.
Mike loved anything to do with motorcycles or cars, especially vintage Volkswagen Beetles. He also had a passion for Great Lakes historical ships and lighthouses. He enjoyed watching and riding the USS Badger out of Ludington. He was known for his great sense of humor, a touch of sarcasm, and his ability to make others laugh. Mike was also honest and admired for always doing the right thing.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathleen; three stepchildren, Jason (Shayla) Suchecki, Wendy (Jeff) Green, and Heather (Gary) Cole; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Josh, Noah, Larissa, Taylor (Keenan), Maverick (Alexis), and Carson; one great-grandchild, Lilly; and many nieces and nephews; his father, John Cicholski; brother, Steve (Laura) Cicholski; sister, Stacey (Doug) Suida; nieces and nephews Allison, Ryan, Heather, Rebecca, and Mason. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Cicholski.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Grand Haven. The Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. at Lakeshore Cemetery.
