William R. LaRue, Sr., 88, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025 at Physicians Regional Hospital.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Peg, and his three children: Bill Jr. (Konnie), Nicky (Dave) Duncan, and Lizzie (Roy) Bramer; as well as four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Bill also leaves behind three siblings – Carl (Diane) of Cambridge, Ohio; Dan (Carol) of New Concord, Ohio; and Nancy (Russ) Pearson of Grand Haven – along with many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
Bill was a generous, kind, and modest man. He was very clever and had a witty sense of humor. He served six years in the United States Air Force as an intelligence officer, and later built a successful career in sales and land development, earning lifelong friendships along the way. His only adversaries were the fish on the end of his line and the opponent sitting across the Cribbage / Piton board. And maybe the IRS, oh, and the Game Wardens.
A celebration of life will take place next summer at Lake Forest Cemetery.
