1928 - 2025

Audrey Marie Lehrer: wife of Clement, mother of 11, grandmother of 23, great-grandmother of 36, great-great grandmother of 2, and friend to innumerable others; this woman's love and care touched many lives. Audrey Marie Lehrer, 96, was welcomed into heaven on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Born to Arthur & Katherine Pulkrabek on October 19, 1928, in Glencoe, MN, Audrey was the oldest girl in a family of 1 boy and 4 girls. She graduated from high school in Glencoe, MN. After high school she moved to Springfield, MN, attended cosmetology school, then worked at a local salon.

Audrey caught Clement John Lehrer's eye and on October 11, 1948, they wed in Springfield, MN, an enduring 64-year union which produced 11 children-- two boys and nine girls. After living in Springfield for 30 years, they renovated a home on White Swan Lake in Itasca County, MN, where she resided until her passing.

Audrey was resourceful & spunky, never afraid to tackle a project or problem. She sewed prom dresses, swim suits, doll clothes, and drapes; she upholstered chairs, hunted deer, and filleted fish with the best of them; she gardened, canned, baked and cooked for her growing family.

Alongside Clem, she took an active role in the Swampsiders' Snowmobile Club, and oversaw the logistics of the yearly Gun Safety classes Clem taught.

She gifted each child and grandchild one of her delicately-crocheted Christmas angels, now seen atop many family Christmas trees.

Audrey's garden was her summer passion-- even at the age of 95 she enjoyed helping things grow.

Her ever-expanding family kept her home lively and, as needed, Audrey took on the role of confidant, teacher, nurse, counselor, cheerleader, hair dresser, cookie provider, etc.

Audrey Marie Lehrer –a life well-lived, a woman dearly loved.

Surviving family members include Mark (Colleen); Christine Lehrer-Rosenberg (Dennis); Jean Marie Meyer (Daniel); Karen Walter (Eugene); Arthur (LeAnn); Ruth Weber (Kurt); Carol Stolt (Michael); Elizabeth Dahmes (Bradley); Mary Beckner (Troy); Catherine Savich (Timothy); as well as numerous grandchildren, great- and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clement; daughter, Gretchen Meredith; son-in-law, Kip Meredith; and great-grandchild, Isabelle Ann Terry.

A special thanks to the family members who tirelessly provided the time and care needed to enable Audrey to stay in her home for the last year.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Bigfork, MN. Father Jeremy Bock is officiating. Interment will be at the St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield, MN.
