Nancy M. Floria, age 78, of Swift Lake, Remer, MN passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, at her residence with her husband by her side.

Nancy Marie was born October 10, 1946, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Joseph and Gladys (Lothenbach) Smola. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated with the Class of 1964 from Archbishop Murray Catholic High School in Maplewood, Minnesota. It was during her time at Archbishop Murray that she met her future husband, Ron Floria who was a student Hill Catholic High School nearby.

Following high school Nancy completed her beauty school training and took her first job with Ritter Hair Salon in St. Paul's HarMar Mall. She was united in marriage to Ron while he was on leave from the Navy, February 3, 1968, at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Roseville, Minnesota.

Nancy and Ron lived in Roseville, MN until 1974 when they moved north to Boy Lake in Boy River, MN. Together in 1991 they started Florio's Grill & Tavern in Longville, MN. In 1996 they moved to their home on Swift Lake in Remer, MN. Ron and Nancy were presented with an opportunity in 2007 to move their restaurant from the original Longville location to Cohasset, MN, and did so with great success. In 2000 their son Larry and daughter-in-law Sherry took over the business and day-to-day operation, but Nancy continued to work until her cancer diagnosis this past June. Nancy enjoyed fishing and hunting with Ron and being at their home on Swift Lake. She treasured the time she had with her two grandchildren Dominic and Megan.

Nancy is survived by her husband Ron; son Larry (Sherry) Floria, and grandchildren Dominic and Megan, all of Swift Lake, Remer, MN.

A Celebration of Nancy's life is being planned for a later date, with details to be announced with finalized.
