Col. Roger Leon Rostvold, 68, of Nashwauk, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at his residence.

Roger was born in 1957 to Leon and Elizabeth (Betty) Rostvold in Hibbing, Minnesota. He grew up in Keewatin, where he attended local schools, graduating from Nashwauk-Keewatin High School in 1975. Following high school, Roger attended the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in political science. He joined the US Air Force shortly afterwards, where he spent 30 years primarily in aircraft maintenance at various locations. While enlisted, he gradually worked his way up through the ranks to Colonel with his last assignment being the logistics commander for the aircraft 388th Maintenance Group. During his service he completed a masters in strategic studies degree and was awarded numerous ribbons and medals for his time served. Roger met his wife Kina while stationed in Korea. Upon his retirement, they returned to northern Minnesota, residing part-time in Kina's home country. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Roger is survived by his wife, Kina; brothers, Paul (Susan) and Jim (Chris); sister, Lisa (John); and nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Kalie, Wynn, Kimberly, David, and Lynn.

A celebration of Roger's life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 PM, Friday, December 19, 2025 at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids.
