Wendy Marie Nyberg
1954 - 2025
Wendy Marie Nyberg, long-time resident of Trout Lake Township, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025 in
Grand Rapids, Minnesota. She was in the presence of her daughters and sister, KC Neustrom.
Wendy was born on August 9, 1954 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Edward and Marie Wortman. She made the great journey to the north with her family in 1964, to Hill City, where her father co-founded Quadna Mountain Resort- a true family venture, and place of endless entertainment for her and her siblings.
Wendy graduated from Hill City High School in 1972. She went on to attend school at Moorehead State University and the Minnesota School of Business.
Wendy was the first employee of Arrowhead Promotions in
Grand Rapids, Minnesota, where she steadily rose in position until she became a Vice President. She resigned from that position due to her principles. After resigning from Arrowhead Promotions, she worked in her husband's law firm before retiring in 2019. She continued to help the law office remotely and was the driving force and operator of "Grace by Enstrom."
Wendy was a voracious reader and there was no crossword puzzle she could not complete with contributions of her husband (not her children). She was a gifted mother and adored her grandchildren, who fiercely returned her affection.. Wendy was a wonderful cook and took joy in feeding her family (overfeeding her sons-in-law) and spending time with them in her kitchen. Her wit, warmth, and humor will be truly missed by those who were lucky enough to experience it.
She is survived by her husband, Kent, her daughters, Sonja (Hans Anderson), Kara (Matthew Reeve), her grandchildren, Elin Anderson, and Frances Nyberg-Reeve. She is also survived by her siblings, Michael Wortman (Joan), Steven Wortman (Wendy), KC Neustrom-her co-chair of their very own Minnesota Vikings' fan club, John Wortman (Nina)- her turncoat, Packer supporting brother, and Mary Wortman.
Wendy loved the north woods of Northern Minnesota, and her lake. She would hope that anyone who took a few moments to read this obituary will stop and "take a moment" the next, or every time, they have the opportunity to see the sun set on a body of water. Wendy's death was unexpected, her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her, and her memory will remain in their hearts.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
