Andrew Charpentier Obituary
His funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday at Central Assembly of God Church, with burial in Highland Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
The world will never be the same, as it has suffered a tragic loss. On Thursday, July 23, 2009, Andrew Scott Charpentier passed from this world at the tender age of 21, after a brief sudden illness.
Andrew was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., on April 17, 1988, to his parents, Scott and Tammy. When he was 2, the family moved to Las Vegas, Nev., and then when he was 3, moved to Montana, where they lived in Havre, Bozeman, Fairfield and Great Falls.
Although his life was cut short, Andrew lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed a great many things. During his school years, he participated in a number of sports, including basketball, football, wrestling and track. Andrew was active in Scouts while in elementary school, then moved into other interests in high school, including include FFA, drama and debate. He was a member of his high-school debate team, and was a staff photographer and writer for the C.M. Russell High School "Stampede."
Andrew had a great love for music, and incredible talent to match. A self-taught guitarist, he played phenomenally, and in fact had played with and had been a member of several local bands. Andrew's talent shined as he wrote and performed his own songs.
He attended high school in both Fairfield and Great Falls, graduating from C.M. Russell High School in 2007.
After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and was very proud to serve his country. Upon completion of basic training in Illinois, he went for schooling to Pensacola, Fla., where he excelled and earned the title of Aircraft Electronics Technician. His next step took him in a slightly different direction, as he was stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. His duty in Cuba was to guard the detainees of the prison as a member of the Joint Task Force Security Operation. He was proud to be a protector of his country in the war on terrorism. While on duty in Guantanamo Bay, Andrew earned both honors and medals for his courage and his outstanding service outside of the line of duty. His friends there called him "Charpie."
Shortly before his untimely passing, Andrew married the love of his life, a beautiful, wonderful girl named Kathleen, of whom he thought the world. Andrew had a strong faith in God, and was a loving and generous person who knew many people, had many friends, and touched many lives. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his lovely wife, Kathleen Geschwill Charpentier of Great Falls; his mother, Tammy Johnson of Great Falls; his father, Scott Charpentier of Fairfield; stepfather Ole Johnson of Great Falls; stepmother Marilyn Charpentier of Fairfield; siblings Keegan Charpentier of Fairfield, and Torey Charpentier and Weylin Johnson of Great Falls; paternal grandparents Robert and Jane Charpentier of Great Falls; maternal grandparents Janet Curry of Great Falls and Kenneth and Linda Wright of Oklahoma City; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

I knew Andrew as a child. His Parents Scott and Tammy went to the Church of Christ in Oklahoma city.
They were very loving parents and Scott his father was a foreman of the apartment complex that we lived .

Well, we were neighbors to Bob and Jane until a few years ago. Andrew and Nicole were around the same age as my daughters Leslie and Jennifer. They sort of grew up together whenever the kids came to visit grandma and grandpa.
Many memories of Andrew and hearing him play his guitar. I still can't believe such a strong, active, ambitious young man is gone. Our hearts and prayers goes out to his family.

Dear Andrew,
You was our first grand-baby. I remember the first time i held you at the great falls airport,and later on you comeing through that same door as a sailor from Gitmo, and thinking back that first time i held you. Grandpa Bob remembers fishing with you when you were little and when you were grown. Most of all we are going to remember how soft spoken you always were. you are in our hearts until you are in our arms again.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to A1c Andrew Charpentier our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Andrew.
