Andrew Fritschen Obituary

Andrew P. Fritschen

Great Falls - Andrew P. Fritschen passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Peace Hospice at the age of 88.

Cremation has taken place in the care of O'Connor Funeral Home, and no services are planned per Andy's wishes.

Born near Spencer, South Dakota in 1929, Andy grew up in a farming family with his brother and four sisters.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War as a Security Policeman in the Philippines. Andrew married Ruby Kelleher in 1954 and they had four children. Andy went to work for the Great Northern Railroad in Great Falls, Montana as a Railroad Security Agent, retiring after 33 years.

Loving the outdoors, Andrew was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener and enjoyed sharing the vegetables from his bountiful gardens with others. In his later years, he often fished along the Missouri and his grandson remarked that grandpa could always catch the biggest fish. He was right.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Ruby; daughters Barbara (Randel) Sakalis, Peggy (Terry) Brack, and Mary (Sule) Sarumi; son David; brother Robert Fritschen; sisters Gerry Oberembt and Marion Schultz; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
