Beverly Cunningham Obituary

HELENA - Beverly (Champion) Cunningham, 74, died of complications from pulmonary disease Tuesday in Helena.
A celebration of her life is 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Eagles Lodge in Great Falls. Hagler-Anderson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Bev was born in Great Falls in 1934 to Edgar E. and Isabelle Champion of Fort Shaw. She attended Fort Shaw and Simms schools, and Montana State at Bozeman. In 1951, she won a state-wide bookkeeping competition.
Bev worked as an accountant, legal secretary, and later, as a licensed real-estate broker. Her true calling was clothing design. In the 1980s, she designed silk and cashmere knitwear for Silk & Suede.
Bev was a versatile and quick-minded individual. She loved to play duplicate bridge, and in 1975 ranked as a Life Master. She was a talented pianist who loved music and dancing. Throughout her life she could sit down and play any song she heard.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald, of Great Falls.
She is survived by two daughters, Debra Blossom and Lisa Cunningham-Trigg; four grandchildren, Shane Cunningham, Seth, Peyton, and Rikki Trigg; a brother, Robert and family of Helena; and a sister-in-law, Carole Champion of Fort Shaw.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association.

Deb & Lisa,
So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I really enjoyed working with her at Great Falls Realty. We shared many days together and really got to know your family. She was a grand and special lady. I am glad to have known her.

Dear Bev's Family,
Bev was working for Kenny Knight when I went to work there. I was fresh from Vo-Tech, and she was a great teacher in the bookkeeping field. I have used that knowledge all these years. She was an excellent friend also, although we had lost contact quite some time ago. Lisa spent a night or two with us, Colleen and I, a few times. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.
Love to all,
JoAnne Richter Huetter, Florence, MT

Dearest Debbie & Lisa
Having moved to Boise in 1987, Bev and I only saw one another once--a lunch in GF. We lost complete track after that; we were such close friends for many, many years. We had great fun working at the fair..seven years! Bev was one of the most intelligent woman I had the joy of knowing. Yes, I remember the sewing/kniting venture. Her talents were unsurpassed. My memories of you, Debbie and Lisa, are very fond. I'd love to hear from each of you, who were so very close to your Mom. My hearfelt condolences.

To Bev's family,
My mom is at the Big Sky Care Center and Bev was a dear friend of hers. She was always such a day brightner whenever I went to visit - always good for a laugh or a tune on the piano. What a talented, special lady, She will be very missed there. My deepest sympathies. I am sure you have many, many wonderful memories to comfort you.
Sincerely,
Lynda Bujok (daughter of Arlene Burdick) Helena, MT

Dear family of Beverly Cunningham, I knew Beverly very little, meeting her only a few times at the bowling alley when she came to visit Lisa and family while bowling tournaments or league. She was a wonderful person full of smiles the times I saw her with her family. Sorry for your loss, she will be missed. May your hearts soon be filled with all the wonderful memories had over the years together. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Bev - You will be missed by many. The "Bridge Cruise" below the dam at Tiber was always fun. My mom, Mary Pat, and dad, Mickey, always loved playing bridge with and against you. Take a deck of cards with you, I am sure Don, Bob, Esther, and others will be ready to play. Signed...your favorite caddy.

Well, Bev. I hear you have "moved upstairs" now with your brother, and I know you are at peace. Now it's time for the rest of us to once again feel the pain of losing someone dear. Thanks for helping me get that little white house I loved for so many years. Will never forget it. Hugs to the Champions, Cunninghams, & the friends who cared about Bev.
