Bob Stone Obituary

Bob Stone

- - Bob Stone, enduring source of wit, stories, songs, and affection, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 8, with music in his ears and family by his side. He was 81.

Born on September 25, 1936, and raised in Elaine, Arkansas, Bob graduated from high school in 1954. He then served four years in the Air Force; this eventually brought him to Havre, Montana, where he met and married his darlin', Jackie. As their family grew, Bob pursued his career as an Air Traffic Controller and Flight Service Specialist for the FAA. Ever inquisitive, he later studied Airport Management, earned his B.S. from Metropolitan State College of Denver, and taught for a short time at the FAA Academy. Later years found him playing golf, betting the ponies, adoring his grandkids, and sharing his humor and generous spirit with all.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife of sixty years, Jackie, his children, Steve (Melinda), Brenda (Ken), Kevin (Diane), Wendy, and Trace (Brie), eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Barb.

Bob's family will celebrate his life on September 8. For information or to offer condolences, please contact Jackie at [email protected] or 761-7402.
