Danny Pickett Obituary

Danny L. & Cynthia (Olson) Pickett

Cynde (Olson) Pickett, 71, passed from this earth and entered eternity on November 19, 2019, in Whitefish, Montana, from lung cancer. She was brought home to Montana following the death of her husband, Dan, in September.

Cynde was born on September 29, 1948, to Mary and Farrel Olson in Great Falls, Montana. She attended schools in Great Falls and graduated in 1966 from C.M. Russell High. While in college, she was a cheerleader, was honored as Miss Rimrock Hall, and graduated with a B.S. degree in Elementary Ed. from EMC--Billings in 1970. She was a beloved 2nd and 3rd grade teacher for 35 years in Montana, California, and Nevada. She selflessly loved and cared for her friends and family, consistently putting the needs of others ahead of her own, always being happy for everyone else. She blessed all who knew her with her genuine kindness, sense of humor, and golden heart. To know her was to love her.

Cynde was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, nieces Britt and Misty, and grand-nephew Gavin. She is survived by her sisters, Cheryl Beck (Greg) of Whitefish, Montana, Shirley Murray (Scott) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Danny Pickett, 72, passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 4, 2019, after losing his long battle with COPD. Dan was born on September 14, 1946, to Wayne and Marcella Pickett in Sweetwater, Texas. He spent his childhood in the South and his youth in Great Falls, graduating from Great Falls High School in 1964. He served four years in the U.S. Navy near Vietnam, on the USS Winston as a radar technician. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Marketing in 1973 from MSU—Bozeman. He then had a long career with CVS Pharmacy in California and Las Vegas, managing multiple stores.

In July of 1988 Dan and Cynde (college sweethearts) were married in Las Vegas. They had many adventures together, including travel to Alaska, Tennessee, Montana, and Mexico. Cynde was his sole, loving caregiver in the last two years of his life. They loved hanging out with each other, playing golf, visiting with friends, and watching sports. Both Cynde and Dan had loving, compassionate hearts for people and animals, and they will be deeply missed.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Linda and Mitzi. He is survived by his brother Gary of Mills, Wyoming, and nieces and nephews.

Their faith in God was unfailing, and they are now at perfect peace together with new bodies and able to breathe again! Please celebrate their lives in your own thoughts, prayers, and memories. Condolences may be sent to Cheryl Beck, 338 Fairway Drive, Whitefish, MT 59937.
