David Sirucek Obituary

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Lewistown native David Robert Sirucek, 59, died of a brain tumor March 16 at his home in Kansas City, Kan.
A memorial service was held Monday, March 21, at the Moose Club in Kansas City, Kan. Crematorium Society of Kansas and Missouri handled arrange-ments.
David was born in Lewistown, on Jan. 1, 1952, to Robert and Patricia Sirucek. He attended school in Lewistown, graduating from Fergus High School in 1970. After graduation, he attended Montana State University in Bozeman for a short time, and then came home to work on the family ranch/farm. He was very involved with raising quarter horses and Belgian horses, build-ing a reputation as a farrier.
David and Karen Smith were married in 1971, and had two children, Kimberly and Kevin. They later divorced. Dave worked as a deputy sheriff for Fergus County for several years. He then moved to Kansas City, Kan., in the early 1990s, where he joined the Operating Engineers Local 101 Union, and worked as a crane operator.
Dave married Luann "Lu" Kizer on Sept. 11, 1996, and they pursued their common interest of thoroughbred horse racing.
Dave is survived by his wife, Lu Kizer; his daughter, Kimberly Goddard, and her two children, Michael Goddard and Ashley-Ann Goddard of Lewistown; his son, Capt. Kevin Sirucek and his wife, Rebecca Sudenn, of Ansbach, Germany; his father, Robert Sirucek of Kalispell; sister Linda Schrankel; and brother Dan Sirucek of Kalispell.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Sonnenburg, and a sister, Leta Kay Kiesz.

I had the opportunity of working with Dave at JE Dunn for several years. He was a gentlemen and a hard worker that I could always turn to for wisdom. Rest in peace Dave...you've earned it.
