Jerry Oswald Obituary

Jerry Oswald

Lincoln - Jerry E. Oswald, age 80, passed away on June 2, 2021, at his home. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held later this summer.

Jerry was born in Great Falls on April 8, 1941, to Lester and Ruth (Thurber) Oswald. He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1959, and enlisted in the US Navy, where he served aboard the Sea Wolf SSN575. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Jerry joined the Great Falls Fire Dept. later retiring as a Captain.

In 1961, he married Bonnie Townsend and they had three daughters, Willow, Shawne, and Heather. Jerry and Bonnie later divorced. Jerry later met and married Melanie Mundt and welcomed her two children, Shawna and Shane into his life. After a divorce from Melanie, Jerry met the love of his life, Dena Neuwerth and he welcomed her children, Terri and Max into his life. Upon Jerry's retirement he and Dena moved to Lincoln, MT.

He loved to fish, hunt, and socialize with his many friends often over a cold Bud Light at the Wheel Inn. Jerry never met a stranger, and he will be missed by his family and many friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his three sisters, Ruth, Helen, and Jeannie; and a brother, Lester. He is survived by his wife, Dena; his daughters, Willow Oswald, Shawne Oswald, and Heather (Charlie) Lucero; his stepchildren, Terri (Garrett) Neuwerth and Max Neuwerth; Shane Hall and Shawna Lloyd-Hall; grandchildren, Shay and Shawn Stainsby, and Aspen Lucero.
