https://m.Facebook.com/WasatchLawnMemorial/ Lawrence David Wright was born February 3, 1941 in Great Falls, Montana, to Archie and Miriam Wright. He was welcomed to a family as the fourth child of six. Where he grew up on the Ashuelot Bench. He attended school at Simms and graduated in 1959. He was a member of the FFA program. Attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was active in the seminary and youth group programs.
Lawrence at 19 years old put in his papers to serve a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the North Central States Mission 1960-1962. After fulfilling his mission he came home and attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah where he became a 'True Aggie' and studied agronomy. He also met Ann Marie, they fell in love and married December 18, 1963 in the Logan Temple for time and all eternity. He finished college, graduating with a degree in Agronomy in 1965 while Ann Marie worked as a beautician.
In that time they welcomed their first son David then decided to move to Great Falls, Montana where Larry worked selling insurance. He later started Wright Insurance and expanded to own the Rendezvous, Sahara and Wagon Wheel Motels and multiple businesses from rentals to limos. Ann blessed him with 5 more children, Kevin, Todd, Kandra, Chad, and Tenella. They supported all their kids on many activities from church, choir, drama, sports and more. Lawrence was always meeting and visiting with people and giving others a message and a round TUIT and letting them know they are loved and bearing his testimony of his love of the Savior.
No matter where he traveled he always found a connection to Montana. He was able to remember a person and connect them to others he knew. Lawrence loved plants and always had a garden filled with corn, pumpkin, potatoes, raspberries, (much more) and 12 foot Sunflowers.
Lawrence served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from bishop, counselor, youth leader, missionary, high counselor and teacher. In 2000 Lawrence and Ann moved from Montana to Utah living happily together and serving in the temple, local wards, and a mission to Westminster College Ward and moving a couple times but always helping others, sharing the gospel and handing out round TUITs.
On December 29, 2006 he said a temporary goodbye to his sweetheart of 43 years, Ann Marie. Together they raised 6 children and earned 4 Eagle Scouts honors, and 2 Young Womens medallions. They owned and ran multiple businesses and served faithfully in the church. Lawrence continued to live in Utah, around family, with lots of visits to Montana.
He later met and married Sandra Hatch on March 6th, 2010 in the Las Vegas Temple. They lived together in a few places and eventually settled in a home in Elk Ridge, Payson area Utah. Lawrence continued his church service at the Bishops Storehouse, Sunday School, as missionary with Sandra to Westminster College Ward, and also as Temple Ordinance workers in the Payson Temple for 5 years.
Many people couldn't believe how old he was as my mother would say "He didn't have gray hair, he just caused it." He was very young at heart and spirit and yet wise with his riddles and questions. If you ever met our dad within minutes he was your friend. With an infectious smile and a genuine warmth you felt he cared. Lawrence is remembered for his riddles, quotes and poems.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Miriam Wright, wife Ann Marie Anderson, sister Nedra, in laws Clyde and Roma Anderson, and a son. He leaves behind Sandra (Hatch) Wright, children David (Gentry), Kevin (Lisa, Gina) Todd (Maria Cristina), Kandra (Shane) Ludvigson, Chad (Kristine) and Tenella (Damon) Carroll . Sandra's children Colleen (Nathan) Austin, Evan (Crystal), David (Laura), Annette (Charles) Martin. His siblings James Lewis, Carol, Naoma and Lynn Allen. Along with 27 grandchildren, 12 (Hatch) grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, lots of nieces and nephews and many friends.
