Roger Wadsworth Obituary

Roger Allan Wadsworth, 71, of Great Falls, a Montana Air National Guard veteran and retired Guard custodian, died of natural causes Saturday at a local care facility.
His funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with burial in Highland Cemetery. O'Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Survivors include his brothers, Roland Paul (Michelle) Wadsworth and Clifford R. (Georgia) Wadsworth of Great Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Violet Wadsworth; a brother, Jimmy Jack Wadsworth; a nephew, Jimmy Jack "J.J." Wadsworth; and many aunts and uncles.
Roger was born July 20, 1938, to Clarence Theodore and Violet Maude (Parrotte) Wadsworth in Great Falls, where he grew up and was educated. He joined the Montana Air National Guard, and was later employed as a custodian with the Air Guard for many years. Roger also worked at several service stations around Great Falls, as well as being a taxi driver.
Roger never had any of his own children, but had numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much. Roger was a jolly, happy man, who always had a smile. He had a passion for dogs, and enjoyed building model cars and ships. He was a devoted member of the LDS Church and an avid reader. He loved to discuss all the current events, and was somewhat of a history buff. As a young man, he played the guitar and sang Hank Williams songs at several establishments. He enjoyed people and always had some story to tell or some magic trick.

Roger was always happy and out going. You had to smile when he was around. Growing up on the Westside, hanging out at Penwelll's Grocery; those were the days!

Cliff, Georgia, and family: When our family lived on 14th Street SW, Roger (we called him the "little sergeant") would walk passed our house to go to Gore Hill. He was always smiling and seemed not to have a care in the world. My deepest sympathies. Candy Schmasow Fenzl
