Sandra Carolyn (Skelton) Antonich, 68, of Great Falls, an artist, died of cancer Saturday at her home.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at the Christ's Church On The Hill. Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Sandra died peacefully at home on June 20, 2009, surrounded by her family.
Sandi was born Nov. 16, 1940, in Stockton, Calif., the daughter of William and Doris Skelton. As a young child, she moved with her family to Montana, and it has been her home since then. She graduated from White Sulphur Springs High School in 1958, and she attended Montana State University in Bozeman.
In June of 1960, she married Larry J. Antonich, and together they had four children: Sue, Dan, John, and Terry.
Sandi was a talented artist. She explored ceramics, china painting, watercolor and pastel painting, and her latest interests included quilting. She was accepted in the Russell Art Auction and was a quick draw artist there and at several other art shows. For 20 years, she showed at the Russell Art Show, sharing a room with many artists including her daughter Sue, her uncle, Clifford Rumford and her good friend JoAnn Flesch. In recent years she participated in local auctions such as Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Trout Unlimited, etc. Her favorite subjects were flowers, birds and old buildings.
Since retiring, Sandi spent at least half a year at her cabin in the Seeley-Swan Valley area. It will be her final resting place.
She is survived by her children, Sue Antonich of Boise, Idaho, Dan Antonich and Terry Antonich of Great Falls, John Antonich of Englewood, Colo., and her special dog, Lucy; her sister, Nina Barfuss (Dell) of White Sulphur Springs; her brother, William Dewey Skelton (Rosana) of White Sulphur Springs; her aunt, Barbara Rumford of Cascade; granddaughters Sadie and Nikoletta of Boise, Idaho; nieces Shannon Skelton, Dawn Watkins (Dennis) and Darolyn Skelton; and nephews Eddie Roatch Jr. (Maggie) and Clifford Roatch (Marla). Other relatives include Bill and Virginia Tonkovich, Lee and Lois Borgan, Betty Biddle, Margie and Al Lombardi, Judy Slavich; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, William (Bill) Skelton; and her mother, Doris Skelton.
Sandi will be remembered as a devoted mother, sister, and friend. She was kind and loving soul, and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

I had the privelege to work with Sandy at First Nationwide Mortgage in Great Falls. She always had a smile on her face and the room would light up when she was around. I am sorry to hear of the loss of such a wonderful person! She will be greatly missed.

Today I was playing in a park, the grass had many patches of flowering clover. I was teaching my daughter Paige the patients and skill of seeking out a 4 leaf clover, then I reflected on how Aunt Sandy was the one who taught me this. I remember finding my first 4 leaf clover, I rushed to Aunt Sandy's home and gave it to her which gave her great joy!
I have only great memories of my Aunt Sandy, she is in my thoughts and my prayers, I will miss her. Peace in your hearts and understanding in this sad time to all my cousins and her family.
