Steven Walsh Obituary

Steven John Walsh

Steve died in an accident at his home on Lake Five, Montana, in early March 2021. His beloved dog, Max, was at his side. He was born on April 18, 1950 in Great Falls and attended St. Gerard's elementary school, Central Catholic High School, and Gonzaga University. He served honorably in the U.S. Army while stationed in Germany.

Steve was a self-taught cook, gardener, automobile mechanic, carpenter, electrician, and plumber. He remodeled and improved many homes, basements, and decks in Great Falls and at Lake Five in addition to the apartment house that he owned and managed.

He never met an animal he didn't love and was the caretaker of many dogs, pigeons, turtles, frogs, and a fox.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Lila Walsh. He is survived by brothers Bill (Linda) and Jim, of Great Falls, and sisters Roberta Walsh Boylan of Great Falls and Rosemary (Jack) Bury of Spokane, Washington, as well as nieces Nicole Walsh, Tara (Dave) Haight, Maureen (Burt) Ward, Bridget (Robert) Loomis, Allison Walsh, Suzy (Chris) Boylan, and Sara (Jeff) Boylan, and nephews Mike (Linda) Walsh and Brian (Samantha) Walsh. He also leaves thirteen grandnieces and grandnephews.

Steve was a proud son of Montana and his ashes will be returned to Lake Five, his favorite place in all the world, when the family can safely gather for a memorial service.

Donations in Steve's memory can be made to the Flathead County Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
